Viagra 101 – Blue Pill Myths and Facts

By loveandsex

Most of us know what Viagra is – that magic little blue pill that can make turn a wet noodle into a flag at full mast. But what is Viagra, really? What are the pros and cons of these erectile dysfunction pills that are only growing in popularity? Is Viagra for you? Here’s what’s up on Viagra – no pun intended.

Viagra Pros

The most obvious “pro” of that little blue pill is that it can help many men and women reclaim their sex lives. Men who have been suffering from sexual dysfunction can once again experience fulfilling and satisfying sex, and so can their lonely partners. Viagra works by promoting blood flow to the penis, helping it to become and stay erect when sexually stimulated. When taken as prescribed by your doctor, this little blue pill can help you to become more sexually active, stay sexually active and have a better sex life. Many men enjoy taking Viagra to help counteract erectile dysfunction, especially when erectile dysfunction is diagnosed at an earlier age when a man still has sexual desires, needs and wants.

Viagra Cons

Just like any medication, Viagra has side effects as well. Here’s the scoop from WebMD. Only your doctor can tell you if the benefits of the drug outweigh the risks. Make sure you tell your doctor what you are allergic to, and any conditions that you currently have. The most common side effects of Viagra are dizziness, diarrhea, upset stomach and headaches. More serious side effects include sudden loss of vision in rare cases and a prolonged erection, both of which require immediate medical attention. Men who smoke, have high blood pressure and heart problems need to discuss this with their doctor extensively before trying Viagra.

Buying Viagra

Currently, you can buy Viagra with a valid prescription from your pharmacy, or through several internet websites. Cheap Viagra is often found on the internet, as it is usually expensive in its brand name form or from a pharmacy. Before deciding to buy Viagra, make sure you’re obtaining it from a trusted source!

Many men have found that Viagra has tremendously improved the quality of their sex lives, not only through the quantity of sex increasing, but the sensations that accompany it. Viagra should not be taken by men who do not have erectile dysfunction; rather, Viagra is a medication to help those men who have experienced erectile dysfunction and impotency. If the “blue pill” sounds like it might be your ticket out of a sexless, unsatisfying life, talk to your doctor about Viagra for you.

If you’ve made the decision to buy Viagra, you’ve become one of the millions of men who have benefited from this incredible drug. Why wait and watch life pass you by when you could be experiencing it with your whole mind, body and spirit? You’ll have a more satisfying sex life, your partner will be more satisfied and your quality of life will tremendously improve. Just ask your doctor if Viagra can help – it has for others and it can for you too!

Honestly, Does Penis Size Really Matter?

By loveandsex

It’s an age old question. Does penis size really matter?

Certainly, it depends on who you ask. Some people prefer large penises and others prefer quite small ones.  The majority of people, however, agree that penis size is relative to the vagina.

If a penis fits the vagina, it really doesn’t matter how big it measures because, well . . . it fits!

Dear Dan and Jennifer,

Does penis size really matter?

– Small Penis Guy, CA

The Penis Size Controversy

The controversy over penis size has been talked about for ages and no one really seems to have come up with a conclusion.  Many men feel as though they are too small and, honestly, it’s a common misconception. It’s all about whether the penis fits the vagina or not.  Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and that includes both male and female genitalia.  Where sexual pleasure is concerned, the greatest pleasure is often derived from intercourse with someone whose genitalia physically matches your own.

If The Penis Fits…

For example, women with extremely long vaginal canals might prefer larger penises while women with small vaginas might feel that a large penis is too big or painful and prefers a smaller, more compact penis.  Men whose penises are quite wide will often like a woman to be wider as well, as that type of vagina is more accommodating.  It really all boils down to who you’re with. Is your penis too small for her vagina and you’re unable to make her climax?  Is it so big that it causes her pain?  If you find yourself in this situation, you might want to take matters into your own hands – no pun intended. If you fear that your penis may be too small, too large or simply not the right shape or size for your partner’s vagina, it’s time to get creative.

Creative Ways to Work a Size Mismatch

Don’t rely completely on intercourse for you and your partner’s sexual pleasure. It will lead to very boring, monotonous sex especially if you two have a size mismatch.  Try incorporating oral sex on both the receiving and giving ends, or use hands and toys to give your partner pleasure.  If you stick to just intercourse, you’re likely to be frustrated and disappointed.

Work with your partner to find new and creative ways you can please each other sexually in addition to intercourse.  Perhaps using a little extra lubrication or a toy during intercourse will stimulate her so that your penis size isn’t completely what she’s focused on.  There are hundreds of ways you can “ad lib” during sexual exploration and the only limit to what you and your partner can do is your imagination.

When Penis Size Does Matter

If you and your partner can’t work it out so that you can both derive sexual pleasure from each other, it’s time to evaluate your relationship.  There are ways to be intimate without sex and many happy couples do not have sex with each other at all or don’t have sex often.  Evaluate whether you would be comfortable finding other ways to be intimate besides sex.  If not, it might be time to move on.

If you and your partner are having pleasurable sex, then you can probably put the penis size issue to bed.  If you’re a good match physically, it doesn’t matter. If you and your partner aren’t a good match, the best thing to do is simply to give new, creative ideas a shot in the bedroom and see where they take you.  You can decide where to go from there.

Stop Letting Erectile Dysfunction Get You Down

By loveandsex

There’s no shortage of TV commercials and bulk email every day talking about male impotence, or erectile dysfunction. But what really causes this problem? And what can you do about it?

According to WebMD, erectile dysfunction affects an estimated 18 million men in the US alone. Wow! And that’s just the number that admits having the problem. Imagine how many guys aren’t exactly willing to admit they can’t “get it up” to someone who calls to do a survey. After all, it’s not usually the favorite party conversation topic.

So what exactly IS erectile dysfunction?pre

Erectile dysfunction (ED or (male) impotence) is a sexual dysfunction characterized by the inability to develop or maintain an erection of the penis.  — Wikipedia

What are the most common causes of erectile dysfunction?

What most people don’t realize is that erectile dysfunction is not necessarily just a simple physical problem.

And guess what – maybe it’s not even a “medical” problem! If you eat unhealthy foods, never exercise, or live every day in an unhappy and stressful relationship, while going to a job you hate, then you’re very unlikely to have the multi hour erections you used to have back in your college days.

The real cause could be physical, psychological, emotional, or even related to your lifestyle. What’s worse, any one underlying issue (even a lifestyle issue) can trigger physical problems, which in turn can cause erectile dysfunction – or many other health problems. For example, a significant amount of stress in your everyday life can leave you open and susceptible to all kinds of illnesses, which in turn can trigger other problems.

At times even a combination of issues can cause ED, making it more difficult to diagnose the real source of the problem.

Most common physical causes of erectile dysfunction, according to the Mayo Clinic:

 • Heart disease
 • Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
 • High blood pressure
 • Diabetes
 • Obesity
 • Metabolic syndrome

Other causes of erectile dysfunction include:

 • Certain prescription medications
 • Tobacco use
 • Alcoholism and other forms of drug abuse
 • Treatments for prostate cancer
 • Parkinson’s disease
 • Multiple sclerosis
 • Hormonal disorders such as low testosterone (hypogonadism)
 • Peyronie’s disease
 • Surgeries or injuries that affect the pelvic area or spinal cord

Psychological and emotional issues can also lead to erectile dysfunction

Feeling of strong sexual excitement, or a strong sex drive, are not completely depending on physical factors. Depression, anxiety, fatigue, and most importantly – stress – can disrupt these feelings and lead to what is called erectile dysfunction.

In this case it certainly wouldn’t be a physical problem, so beware of treating it the same way. Again, it’s important to identify the core underlying issue and treat it.

What can you really do about erectile dysfunction?

The most important first step for you to take is to consult your doctor, and correctly diagnose your problem. With all the TV ads advertising the blue pill, the purple pill, and all kinds of other well marketed pills, it’s hard to know what you’re actually fixing (or breaking).

All that having been said, once you’re well informed and have an informed medical opinion as to the cause of your impotence, it’s time to do some serious research and figure out what you should do about it.

Medical treatments for erectile dysfunction

Our society demands instant cures for everything, so doctors are often prescribing pills to quickly cure whatever symptom we’re all complaining about.

For male impotence, the more frequently prescribed treatments are medicates like Viagra and Cialis.

Consider natural alternatives

In addition to medications, there are various natural and herbal supplements for treating (or reversing) impotence, such as Herbal Viagra.

Keep an open mind to natural and alternative approaches. For example, if your problem is ultimately caused by an ongoing stressful situation in your everyday life, then maybe it’s to your advantage to ease that stress. Sure some supplements, better diet, and possibly even ED medication (whether prescription or herbal) might also help, but in the long run, deal with the real issue.

We’re certainly believe it’s important to visit your doctor and get an informed medical opinion of your situation first. But then, be smart and take the time to research and fully understand your options. Don’t just blindly follow what one person tells you, even if you paid a lot of money for that office visit. Just remember, that one person may also be blindly following what someone else told him!

Modern medicine has done wonders for our society, and it’s great at fixing injuries, traumas, and various other accidental issues. But its track record for actually ‘curing’  some more common health problems is not impressive. Case in point, the medical industry doesn’t talk in terms of “fixing” or “healing” problems, instead they talk about “pain management”, “symptom management”, and such.

You want resolution, not a “management plan”!

Consider life changes for your health

Once you have identified what situation in your life may be contributing to impotence, take steps to correct them!

Deal with that situation that’s irritating you or giving you an excuse to be miserable. And if your relationship isn’t “what it could be”, do something about it. Go see a therapist (together with your spouse – solo counseling usually results in ending up solo).

If your sex life isn’t “what it could be”, then fix it. There’s no good excuse for a miserable sex life. Take steps to rekindle the romance, and spice up your sex life. Talk to your spouse about your intentions, and see what you can come up with together to reinvigorate the magic. It CAN be done, but you have to REALLY want it and make a commitment to it.

Of course it’s never a bad time to start an exercise program (one that your doctor would approve of), or to start eating healthier.

And back to alternative solutions, massage and meditation have been shown to dramatically reduce stress and help you increase your quality of life.

Blue Pill Anyone? Maybe It’s Time for Some Natural, Herbal Viagra Alternatives

By loveandsex

Unless you’ve been under a rock for the last few years, you know that every middle aged man has at the very least thought about getting his hands on some of those magical little blue pills.

Viagra and Cialis are everywhere!

Are Male Erectile Dysfunction Pills Actually Safe?

Of course, we’ve all heard the TV commercials that tell you about the great benefits, but then in a hushed voice warn you to “seek immediate medical attention if an erection lasts more than four hours”. Huh? What exactly are these pills doing to our bodies?

Modern medicine has a great track record for fixing broken bones and major injuries resulting from accidents. But results have been downright disappointing for medications. And then there’s the major fun fact that almost no medication actually fixes anything – it’s all a long term maintenance plan for life. Ouch!

What IS absolutely amazing is the results people see with natural, herbal supplements.

What About Natural, Herbal Viagra Alternatives?

Let’s put it this way…

I took blood pressure medication for years (250 milligrams a day in the last year), and according to my doctor, I could expect to take it (in ever increasing quantities) for the rest of my life. Cool, huh?

Until one day I said “that’s enough”! I started reading up on natural alternatives, i.e. stuff that doesn’t require prescriptions. At least not yet – that’s a government control topic for another day…

A good friend of ours who’s very familiar with holistic (natural) treatments recommended some herbal supplements, and a daily meditation program. So I started taking those supplements and began the 30 minute daily meditation program, with an open mind and a hope for better health.

Amazingly enough, my blood pressure was completely GONE within the first 3 months of this new program. And 3 years later, by blood pressure is still gone. By the way, I only took the supplements for 3 months – not for the rest of my life!

Are Herbal Supplements Safe?

Like most everything else, some are and some aren’t. Just like drugs from your local pharmacy, some will be completely harmless and some will have nasty side effects. You have to be smart, do your homework, and know what you’re putting into your body. If you do actually read up and do a little research, you’ll quickly know what natural alternatives are available for what ever’s ailing you.

Guess what – you should do the SAME level of research when you buy a big name drug. Just because it comes on TV, doesn’t mean it’s safe and won’t have side effects for you.

Benefits of Natural  Supplements Over Prescription Drugs

Are you tired of paying a massive premium and jumping through hoops to get your hands on those pricey blue pills? One major problem with Viagra and other erectile dysfunction drugs is the price.

Ever hear of herbal Viagra? Yes, there are various natural, herbal treatment options coming on the market to treat erectile dysfunction, but at a fraction of the price. Tired of paying $15 per pill? Some of the herbal options go for $1 to $2 per pill.

Better yet, many herbal supplements have been around for hundreds or thousands of years; they haven’t been rushed out of the Big Pharma Corp in time for the major product launch of the “blue pill“, the “purple pill”, or whatever color we’re pushing this month. Do you ever wonder why they make them such pretty colors?

Then there’s the hassle and red tape, and all the time involved in getting a prescription, juggling your insurance coverage, playing the “co-payment” game to see what is and isn’t covered this month, and so on. All those fun reasons we try to avoid pharmaceuticals whenever possible.

And of course there are the side effects. Ever try reading the side effects on most medicines you purchase these days? Scary!!! People not only get sick and have crazy reactions, but many actually die from side effects of modern medicines. Perhaps it’s the over commercialization of modern medicine that pushes out products before they’re actually ready (something we so often see in the software industry). Regardless, fact is modern medicine offers many benefits for emergency situations, but has a LOT of growing to do when it comes to solving regular problems like erectile dysfunction and high blood pressure.

Herbal supplements tend to be significantly safe and have few if any side effects. Again, research anything you’re going to put into your body, but all in all you’re probably much safe when you go natural.

Maybe it’s time to give the natural, herbal approach a try. And instead of spending a fortune on a bottle of Viagra, maybe you should consider giving natural, herbal Viagra a try.
