Once you’re at a nice local place that’s “off the beaten path,” here’s how to make the most of your first date:

  • When you order, ask the server what he or she recommends. Go with one of the answers, no matter what it is. (This shows you’re open to new experiences and adventures – very attractive to women. Also, you’re able to lead others and make quick decisions. Little things like this COUNT)
  • Order her something you think she’ll like, for dessert. (Women like a man who leads, so here’s exactly what you should say, “My friend came here and said X DESSERT was great. You’ve got to try it, so I’ll order us one.” Say this right before your waiter comes over, then give him or her your order)
  • After dinner, include an activity that lets you two just sit around and talk. Sitting in a park, watching the stars and finding some place to just people watch are all great ideas. (You want to let her settle and digest, plus special “mood” and “bonding” chemicals come out right after dinner, when you sit down and relax)

Window shopping is the be-all, end-all way to impress a woman you just met. It’s the ultimate fantasy: You take a woman to the most expensive stores you can find, or on a walk around one of the really fancy neighborhoods. And you ask her what she’d like to own. You make her imagine owning it. Then you both feel like you’ve just lived “the good life” together, making her emotional bond to you super strong.

  • Start the date like this, “I like to walk around and look at all the high quality stuff wealthy people can buy.   • Go for the big, BIG ticket items – Window shopping clothes and jewelry is cool, but if she’s into cars, go check out Ferraris and Aston Martins, instead. (And if she’s a clothes girl, find the nicest places in town. Bigger prices mean bigger fantasies)

Get Messy Together

This first date idea isn’t for the faint of heart. Or for the timid. Or for most women.

You may even find that your date is more impressed with your clever plans than he or she would be with a pricey restaurant dinner.

Planning Ahead

You can make up for what you’re financially lacking, if you’re willing to put some thought into your dating plans. If you’re looking to get out of the house, start combing the internet for ideas. You’d be surprised at how many discounted and free events there are out there. If you live near a major city, publications like Time Out (either on the web or in magazine form) can be a great reference point. Taking your partner to half price night at your local museum or zoo for a first date is a lot more interesting than dinner and a movie. If you and your significant other are sports fans, look to see if there’s a minor league team near you. Tickets are often much more affordable, and you can enjoy discovering a new team together.

Search bars and venues for free or cheap music performances by local acts. You can still enjoy the feel of catching live music without paying the big bucks for tickets to a major artist’s concert. Some bars and restaurants also host free tasting nights or have special brunch, lunch or dinner deals well worth investigating. Head Outdoors

Heading out into the great outdoors can be another low or no cost alternative to traditional date ideas. Go for a walk in your local park or take a picnic there. Better yet, find a nearby place for a hike and make a day of it. You’ll get to enjoy nature, each other’s company, and a little exercise. If you and your date are sporty types, meet up for a game of one-on-one basketball when it’s warm out or go ice skating when it’s cold (save even more if you both own your own skates).

If you’re a pair of do-gooders, try volunteering together. A lot of parks and/or beaches need people to help with seasonal gardening and clean up. If you’re not outdoorsy, try volunteering for another cause you both believe in. Animal lovers can spend an afternoon helping out at a shelter or pet adoption fair. If you’re both bookworms, consider volunteering to read stories to kids at your local library or hospital. Go People-Watching

Grab a mug of coffee or a bag of trail-mix and head to a busy public place, like a park or sidewalk bench. Set up somewhere comfortable and just watch passersby for a while. You’ll get a chance to notice things about the world around you which often go unnoticed. Plus, you will have your partner there to talk about the situations you observe or people who catch your eye. You can dream aloud about how you want to be like the old couple, still holding hands after being married for fifty years. Take A Class Together
