Jewelry
While jewelry may seem cliche, don’t underestimate the fact that almost every women loves things that are pretty and sparkly. If you want to ask her to get married, a ring is great on Valentine’s Day, but your girl will appreciate a nice pair of earrings or a tennis bracelet just as much. Just make sure to put some thought into it – if she works with her hands all day, a channel set ring would be a better choice than a marquis diamond.
Flowers
Sure, it’s just as cliche as jewelry, but very few women won’t love a gorgeous bouquet of blooms. The trick is, however, to make giving the flowers unique. Surprise her at work with a bouquet of flowers – IN PERSON. She’ll love the attention! Do it right before her lunch break and then take her out to lunch. When she comes back, it’s all her coworkers will talk about! Bonus points if you get a quickie in the car – or at least make it look like you did. Whatever you choose to do, just don’t be the guy who has his secretary send her a tiny, overpriced bouquet off the Internet or the guy who gets the discount flowers from the supermarket after all the good ones have been picked through.
Chocolate
Chocolate is a popular Valentine’s Day present, but it’s easy to go very wrong when buying your woman chocolates for the big day. We’re not talking about the box you can simply grab at the store with the rest of your groceries. These heart shaped boxes can be pretty, but they’re usually filled with cheap tasting chocolate and gritty fillings. This Valentine’s Day, give her fine imported or Godiva special order chocolates. She’ll swoon over those.
You can make it really special by finding out what chocolates she really likes. For example, lots of people don’t like dark chocolate or coconut (especially the cheaper varieties) and many boxes of mixed chocolates have a large ratio of these flavors. If she doesn’t like dark chocolate, go for a milk chocolate mix or hand select which chocolates she’d like. Many specialty chocolatiers and candy stores will allow you to put together a box of chocolates that you pick out.
Wine Or Champagne
Another great Valentine’s Day idea is to surprise her with a bottle of her favorite wine or champagne – you know, the kind she loves but it’s just a little over her price range so she never buys it for herself. Make a point to enjoy it with her. This is where you can make the gift truly special, by enjoying a nice, long conversation with her while relaxing over drinks. Make sure to bring a back up because if she really likes it, one bottle isn’t going to be enough for the two of you!
Weekend Getaway
You’d be surprised at how much a simple change in scenery will rev up your sex life and make Valentine’s Day super special. Even if it’s just for the weekend, a simple getaway with just the two of you will be just the ticket to a perfect weekend. Or, you can simply book a hotel for that night if you don’t have the time or funds to splurge for the entire weekend. Make sure you’re booking a nice 3-5 star hotel, not the sleazy motel across the street. The venue you choose will make a difference. Bonus points if you bring the high end chocolate AND the champagne.
Spa Voucher
Women love to be pampered, but unfortunately, it is a rare woman indeed that will actually spend that kind of money on herself. For Valentine’s Day, get her a massage voucher. Or a hair voucher. Or nail voucher. Or all three. You get the idea – let her know that you feel like she’s worth it and that you appreciate all of her hard work and everything that she’s done for you. Take her to the spa and be there to pick her up when her appointment is finished.
Sex Toy
While getting her a sex toy as a gift can definitely backfire if you’re not careful, all you have to do is pay attention to what she likes and what she doesn’t like in bed to make sure you get her one that she’ll like. If you choose the right toy, you’ll show her that you really do know her well and know what she enjoys. Pair a sex toy with another gift, such as a massage or a night at your favorite hotel, for the perfect Valentine’s Day evening.
Photograph Of You And Her Together
Show your love for your girl by giving her a gift of a photo of you two together in a nice keepsake frame. If you don’t have good pictures of you two together to frame, make your gift a photo shoot together. Get them professionally done and give it to her to put on her desk or hang up in her house – or your house if you share one. This is a super creative and sweet way to show your lover that your relationship with her is important to you and you want to celebrate it on Valentine’s Day.
Comfortable Pajamas
Lingerie is a popular gift for Valentine’s Day, but let’s face it – how often is she really going to wear it? Probably just the once. Come to think of it, isn’t lingerie for her really a gift for you in disguise? It’s kind of like getting her a fishing pole for her birthday – you’re really getting her a present that is for you to use. Instead of getting her lingerie, get her high end, comfortable pajamas to wear that shows her you care about her and her comfort. A sweet set of silky pajamas will make her feel loved and pampered – and it probably won’t be long before the pajamas come off and you get to enjoy the night in your birthday suits.
A Love Book
A LoveBook is a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift, because it’s something that will last forever – a book full of things you love about your partner that you made yourself. It’s an easy gift to give, because the program used to make the LoveBook guides you through the process, but it also allows you to be as creative as you want and customize your LoveBook completely. It’s something she can read every day that tells her each little thing that you love about her.
